Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is such an exciting day! You still have all the anticipation of "The Big Day", all the chores and errands are done (or just aren't going to get done), and today I get to look at my pretty tree, lose myself in thought while staring at the lights, and have a chance to reflect on the real reason for Christmas. The birth of Jesus, and what it has meant to the world. I think about all the blessings and good fortune I have in my life and get to say thank you to God, to my family and to myself, for getting through another year. It may sound fatalistic, but every year when I put away the ornaments, I always wonder what changes will happen between now and when I take them out again next year.

This morning I have the house to myself. The boys are out doing thier last minute shopping (they've only had a 364 day notice that Christmas was coming!), so I'm savoring my coffee, doing some baking and may actually clean up my studio, so that I get to start the year with a clean slate and lots of opportunties to be creative. I have been sketching out new ideas and hope to challenge myself this year into pushing my creativity in new directions. After all, I have to keep my girls looking beautiful and stylish and wanting more!

You are amoung the blessings I am counting today, and hope your Christmas is filled with the joy and wonder that this time of year is supposed to be about! Merry Christmas and have a safe and healthy new year!
